Conclusion

Music education increases and accelerates cognitive progression.  There have been countless scholarly studies on the effects of music education on the lives of students, and all of them agree that students who participate in music training, in general, test better, process speech more quickly, along with countless other benefits.  Music education also assists in the development of fine motor skills.  Just practicing musical instruments has been proven to enhance hand-eye coordination and muscle strength in the fingers and hands.  And, finally, music education advances social maturation.  Music teaches students to work together as a team as well as how to interact with strangers.  It also allows the expression of feelings and emotions that many students would typically keep bottled up. Music education should be mandatory in schools because it increases cognitive progression, assists in development of fine motor skills, and advances social maturation..
